Yevgeny Tsyganov will play Peter Glebsky in the film Hotel at the Dead Mountaineer.

Evgeny Tsyganov will play Peter Glebsky in the new film adaptation of the Strugatsky brothers’ story “Hotel at the Dead Mountaineer”.

Alexander Domogarov Jr., director of the film: The character of Peter Glebsky is the framework of the whole story. We’ve evolved the hero’s arch, now he has a personal drama that influences the course of the whole story. A tired detective arrives at a hotel, and he comes across a real case. He always lived by the letter of the law, because of which he had conflicts with his daughter, closer to whom he had no one in his life. Faced with personal tragedy, he remained committed to the law, but lost the meaning of life. Events in the hotel, he needs as an important exam: what to do next. The hotel is a metaphor for Glebski’s inner emptiness, his mistakes, which he must try to correct. We’ve added lines to the script that make it clear that something is happening for a reason: someone brought everyone together at a hotel, and the detective now has a purpose if he passes that exam. Yevgeny Tsyganov, in my opinion, is one of the few actors who can play such a complex, multifaceted character, and his participation is a great success for our future film.

Filming of the picture will begin early next year. The project is now in the final stages of the preparatory period.
