The company “Mars Media” has acquired the rights to the film adaptation of Vladimir Obruchev’s novel “Sannikov Land”
The film will tell about the journey of a group of researchers to a mysterious land beyond the Arctic Circle, which, thanks to the unique climate, turned into a living ice age park. On their way, researchers will meet the amazing plant and animal world of that time: woolly rhinos, mamons, and other animals.
The film will tell about the journey of a group of researchers to a mysterious land beyond the Arctic Circle, which, thanks to the unique climate, turned into a living ice age park. Along the way, researchers will meet the amazing plant and animal world of that time: woolly rhinos, mammoths, cave bears, saber-toothed tigers and many other dangerous prehistoric animals.
The book, written in 1924, tells about the journey of three students to Sannikov Land in the early XX century.
The first adaptation of the novel came out in 1974. The cult film starred stars of Soviet cinema, and the song “There is only a moment”, written for the film by Alexander Zatsepin and Leonid Derbenev, does not lose popularity to this day.
The new version of Sannikov Land will preserve the spirit and plot basis of the novel.
The film, like Obruchev’s book, will be filled with adventures, in the center of which will be a mysterious tribe of Onkilons – descendants of the northern people, a few centuries ago left Chukotka and settled on a lost island.
The producers of the project are Ruben Dishdishyan, Julia Ivanova and Denis Frolov. The creative producer is Alexey Platov.
Ruben Dishdishyan, producer: Our company has acquired the rights to create the film adaptation, as well as derivatives - the series, sequel, prequel.
