THREE SONGS FOR CINDERELLA

Anya lives in a little town in the Moscow region: she grew up in a foster home, and never knew her parents. But, just before the school prom, she discovers that for the past seventeen years, someone has been transferring money in her name from Moscow. Who is this mysterious person that has been taking care of her for all of these years, ever since her mother’s death? To answer this question, Anya decides to seek out the people who knew her mother. And all signs tell her that she should search in the capital, where she is planning to attend university with her two best friends. But she misses the entrance exam, and an incident leads her to the music theater, where her mother had started a brilliant career. Anya participates in a casting call for the role of Cinderella in a new musical, and makes a strong impression on the project's scriptwriter and composer. But the famous stage director has doubts that this unknown newcomer actress will succeed in the role. He does not yet know that Anya is the daughter of another actress, with whom he had a short but whirlwind romance, eighteen years ago…
