Ilya Ladygin got his nickname «Lancet» back at the medical school for his love for surgery. Today Ladygin is on a verge of despair: his wife suddenly died, son blames him for that and moves to live with his grandmother. Only work could «cure» Ladygin, but all of a sudden every single surgeon’s nightmare comes true – Ilya is diagnosed with tremor. The patient dies and Ladygin can no longer operate. He is already preparing to leave the medicine but suddenly receives an unexpected proposal – to head the hospital unit engaged in internal investigations.
